Scientists and experts from industry, universities and institutes are cordially invited to attend the International Conference and to contribute to its scientific program.

Abstract information


Extended abstracts should be one A4 page long.

Please follow the additional instructions for preparing abstracts:
  • Word processing software: Preferably use Microsoft Word (or equivalent), supported by file extensions .doc or .docx.
  • File should be named with the last name of the presenting author (i.e. Smith.docx)
  • Page format: A4
  • Margins: left 2.5 cm; right 2.5 cm; top 2.5 cm; bottom 2.5 cm
  • Font style: Times New Roman 12 for text, 14 for title and 10 for References.
  • Line spacing should be set to 1.5, and paragraphs should be fully justified.
    They should be easily legible for photographic reproduction.
Authors should specify the topics of their contributions:

MM – Metallic materials,
CM – Composite materials,
C – Ceramic,
NN – Nanosciences and nanotechnologies
MS – Mathematical modeling and computer simulation of processes and technologies,

* - for all participants in young researcher sections add "YR”.

Abstracts will be published in the Book of abstracts in the above demanded style.

Each registered participant may have only one oral or poster presentation, but can be co-author in another presentation of registered participant.

Exhibition


Technical exhibition of materials, equipment and scientific literature will be held simultaneously with the Conference. Compartments of 2 m x 3 m with a table and two chairs will be available. They will be in front of conference halls.


Price: 500 EUR (for 3 days, obligatory installation before conference)


Language


Conference language is English. 


Oral presentations


Oral presentations are scheduled for invited lecturers, regular participants and for young researcher, as following: 40 minutes are for presentations of plenary lectures, 20 minutes for invited lectures, and 15 minutes for presentation of other talks, including the time for discussion. Available time for young researchers’ presentations is 10 minutes including discussion.

Overhead projector and computer for presentation will be available. The presentation should preferably be prepared in Powerpoint 2007 (.pptx, .ppt, ...) or in PDF format. Presentations should be uploaded on the computer available for presentations during breaks in order to avoid delays. 


Poster presentation


Poster board area is 1.2 m high and 1 m wide. The size of lettering must enable to read text and drawings from a distance of 1.5 meter. The title of the paper and the list of authors, along with the addresses and affiliations, should be on the top of the poster area.

Proceedings


Papers presented at Conference can be published in scientific journal MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGY in 2015, following standard peer-review procedure. The journal is indexed in the SCI database from 2007.
 
Manuscripts should be submitted not later than 1st July 2015 via e-mail.

Completed definitive registration form should be sent to the Organizing Committee before 30th April 2015.

*Please send confirmation by e-mail of your student status (valid student card) for PhD students younger than 35-years old.
** Accompanying person should register as regular participant and check a box for "Accompanying person". The registration fee for the accompanying person includes: two lunches, standing buffet at poster session and conference social evening with music and standing buffet.

The registration fee payment deadline is 30th June, 2015. The registration is confirmed when full payment confirmation is received (by e-mail or fax).

The registration fee includes: conference materials on a tablet PC, coffee breaks, two lunches, stand-up buffet at poster session and conference social evening with music and standing buffet.
(Exchanges of the tablet PC will only be possible during the conference.)

Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted in writing by July 31, 2015. A 50 EUR fee will be applied.
 
VISA Requirements

All foreigners, non EU citizens, intending to enter Slovenia should provide the documentation required to justify the reason and duration of their stay as well as, in some prescribed cases, the availability of adequate economic means and lodging.

Travelling


Travel by Airplane

Participants arriving by airplane are advised to book their final destination to Aerodrom Ljubljana Airport (LJU). This airport is connected by frequent flights to all major European airports. Ljubljana Airport is 20 km away from Ljubljana city center and can be reached by busses running at the time intervals of one hour. The bus drive takes about 45 minutes. Arriving to Ljubljana city, travel to Bernardin/Portoroz may be continued by bus directly to Portoroz or by train to Koper, where a local bus to Portoroz should be taken.

Another option of air transportation is to fly to the Trieste Airport at Ronchi (TRS) (80 km away from the conference venue), Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) (190 km away from the conference venue) or Venice Treviso Airport (TFS) (180 km away from the conference venue).

Shuttle

Shuttle transportation is available from airports to Portoroz (Bernardin).
 

By bus
Busses connect Ljubljana to Portoroz daily at time intervals of one to two hours. The time table can be obtained here . Busses start from the Ljubljana main bus station and the final bus station is Portoroz.

By car
Traveling by car to Portoroz, the highway from Ljubljana towards the Adriatic Sea should be taken.
